This past Saturday was crazy. Busy isn’t even a good adjective for how crazy and chaotic Saturday was, but as every Saturday, everyone was hungry at noon begging for food. I needed something quick, easy, and hot. (Amazed at how quickly we’ve cooled off over the last few weeks.) So into the kitchen I stumbled and came up with this.
We all have heard of pigs in a blanket, well I’d like to introduce its cousin, Easy-Cheesy Hot Ham Sandwiches.
*I think next time I’ll add in some extras like spinach, diced tomatoes, or even diced onions. The opportunities are endless.
Step 1: Roll out the dough and smear with mayo. *I left it as shown and when I went to roll it into the crescent shaped roll, it was a little tricky to separate it with all the toppings staying on. I suggest to separate into the triangles.
Step 2: Add on all the toppings. We only used diced ham and shredded cheddar this time.
Now it’s time to roll them all up to pop them in the oven. Bake at the temp and time the crescent roll can calls for.
For our can, 13 minutes later we had these lovely things.
Nice, fluffy, and scrumptious. The five of us went through 2 cans of crescent rolls and a can of fruit cocktail for lunch. I’m thinking that these would be great to make ahead and then toss them into a zip-lock baggie and freeze. Then after school, just pop 1 or 2 into the microwave for a quick and easy snack.
Hope you enjoy this as much as my crew did Saturday.
